Position Overview

Christian Crossroads Academy (CCA) is seeking a passionate, faith-driven Grammar School Teacher to join our founding team. This role involves teaching Kindergarten, 1st Grade, or 2nd Grade as we prepare to launch our classical Christian academy in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be committed to nurturing young minds and hearts in a Christ-centered, classical learning environment. We invite applicants who have experience with classical Christian education—or those eager to invest time and energy in learning its philosophy and pedagogy.

Christian Crossroads Academy is a start-up school dedicated to providing classical Christian education in the heart of North Dakota’s Bakken Oil Play. We serve rural families and energy-sector communities with a distinctively biblical and classical model that seeks to shape students in knowledge, virtue, and faith.

Position Details

Job Title: Grammar School Teacher (K–2)
Reports To: Head of School
Status: Full-Time (10-month academic year)
Start Date: Fall 2025
Location: Stanley, ND

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Duties

  • Teach core subjects through a classical Christian lens using methods suited for the Grammar Stage (e.g., memorization, songs, recitation, narration).

  • Integrate Scripture and a biblical worldview throughout the curriculum.

  • Foster curiosity, wonder, and a love of learning in young children.

Classroom Culture & Formation

  • Establish a classroom culture rooted in virtue, order, joy, and grace.

  • Use age-appropriate discipline and instruction that supports character formation.

  • Build habits of attentiveness, obedience, and respect.

Parent Partnership & Communication

  • Serve as a co-laborer with parents in their child’s academic and spiritual development.

  • Maintain regular, open communication with families.

  • Participate in parent-teacher events and school community life.

Professional Collaboration & Growth

  • Engage in regular faculty meetings and shared prayer.

  • Commit to professional growth in classical Christian education through readings, mentorship, or workshops (e.g., ACCS, SCL, CiRCE).

  • Contribute to school start-up planning and cultural formation.

Qualifications

Spiritual & Personal

  • A mature follower of Jesus Christ, committed to biblical truth.

  • Active member of a local church and in agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.

  • Passionate about the integration of faith, virtue, and learning.

Educational & Professional

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required); advanced degree preferred.

  • Teaching experience preferred, especially with elementary-aged students.

  • Prior experience in a classical Christian school is a plus—but not required if the applicant is open to training and mentorship.

Skills & Dispositions

  • Joyful, nurturing, and calm classroom presence.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Teachable spirit with a willingness to be mentored and to mentor others.

  • Alignment with classical values of beauty, truth, goodness, and order.
